The Gunflint area is home to some of the best Lake Trout fishing in Minnesota.  Many of the deep clear rocky lakes of the Boundary Waters Country have native Lake Trout in them with excellent spring fishing starting May 9th.  This package begins at nearby Round Lake where you have two route choices—heading back to Tuscarora Lake (with two longer portages), or beginning a circle route heading toward Gillis Lake.  You can base camp or move along as you prefer, with 5 very good Lake Trout lakes to fish—Tuscarora, Gillis, Little Saganaga, Bat and Peter Lakes.

Includes: 4 nights and 5 days of complete outfitting with canoes, all equipment and your custom selected menu, all maps, transportation to and from your entry point, hot
showers and a complete route briefing. Complimentary bunk house accommodations are
available the night before and after your trip if desired, and the dining rooms at the main
lodge offer full meal and beverage service.

7 Night Fishing Canoe Trip Package


5 nights/6 days in the wilderness and 2 nights in a bunkhouse

Fishing on Gunflint Lake

              
The fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout and northern will all be open on May 9th, so if fishing is your priority and you would like to be the first party fishing a specific lake in May, then this is your trip.  Our suggestion for a route will depend on what species of fish are highest on your list and how far you want to go into the wilderness.  After we sort through the choices with you we will custom plan your trip, including a complete route briefing and a review of the fish you will encounter—lures to use, locations, depths, etc.


Includes: Overnight accommodations in a bunk house before and after your canoe trip, plus 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners at the lodge Bistro, 5 nights/6 days of complete outfitting, all maps, transportation to and from the canoe landing, showers with a complete route briefing.

4 Night Guided Grand Slam Fishing Package


Available May 14th  to October 15

              
On this package you base out of one of our canoer cabins here at the Outfitters and enjoy 3 days of guided fishing trips for walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout and northern pike. We look out for everything on this package- boat, motor, gas, live bait, fishing equipment, and fish filleting. Your accommodations are on the
rustic side to save you money, but all your meals are at the lodge, you can finish your day with a cold one in the Bistro before relaxing with a tasty dinner from our menu that changes every day. It would be a good idea if you obtained a Cana-
dian remote border crossing permit with this package. This can be done on line at:
www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/bsf386-eng.pdf. Please allow 4 weeks for the Canadians to mail this to you.


Includes: 4 nights canoe cabin accommodations with linens and nearby showers, 3 days of guided fishing, boat, motor, gas, live bait, all fishing equipment, fish filleting and freezing, and all meals at the lodge (in either the Red Paddle Bistro or Justine’s Fine dining as you choose)

Kids Introductory Fishing Camp Package


4 night/5 day package, combining 3 nights in a bunkhouse, 1 night camping out, 1 day of guided fishing, daily canoe use, and 3 dinners in the Bistro.

Available June 1 to July 1

This package is a neat way for the family to enjoy the BWCAW wilderness with a few of the comforts, plus some nature time camping out one night. We teach you some fishing skills with our guide, and you can enjoy hiking on some of our scenic trails, paddling in a canoe looking for beaver and otters, and relaxing in the lodge over tasty dinners. This is a great introduc- tory trip to the northwoods with your family, to give you a taste of the wilderness in a comfortable way. Your first two nights are in a rustic bunkhouse here at Gunflint Outfitters, with a nearby shower house. Your first full day includes the services of a fishing guide with all gear so you can get skilled in the techniques of how we fish for walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout and northern pike in this area. Then we brief you for an overnight canoe trip, and include your maps, transportation to and from the put in landing, plus all your equipment and food (you bring your own fishing gear and tackle). Your last night is back in one of our bunkhouses again before you head home the last morning. Three nights dinners are included in the Red Paddle Bistro where we have a nice menu that includes such things as big deli sandwiches, homemade chowders, huge hamburgers, etc.


Includes: 3 nights accommodations in a rustic bunkhouse, 1 guided fishing day,
complete outfitting for an overnight canoe trip, and 3 dinners in the Bistro.
