5 Night Beginners Family Canoe Trip
Your first night in a rustic cabin, 2 nights/3 days camping out, and 2 nights in a modern lodge cabin
Available all summer
This is a great trip for the family who wants to try a wilderness trip but would still like some of the amenities and comforts around the edges. You spend your first night with us in a private rustic canoer cabin with meals at the main lodge Bistro. After you pack your personal clothes and go through our trip briefing, we take you to a nearby canoe landing and set you in for your 3 day canoe trip. You have an easy route with modest paddling and portaging as you go into the wilderness, spending both your nights at the same campsite. The next day gives you a nice day to explore, fish and work on your camping skills. On your third day you paddle back out where we pick you up and bring you back to Gunflint so you can get checked into a modern cabin with all the luxuries—bathrooms with great hot showers, luxurious beds, a nice living room with fireplace, etc. You have your last two nights in this cabin, and you can enjoy our naturalist program, go horseback riding, or relax as you wish.
Includes: Overnight accommodations in a bunkhouse before your canoe trip and 2 nights in a modern cabin at the end of your canoe trip, 2 nights/3 days of complete outfitting, transportation to and from your canoe landing, all maps, a one hour horseback ride per person, breakfasts at the main lodge all other meals in the lodge Bistro, showers and a complete route briefing. Please allow 4 weeks for the Canadians to mail this to you.

Gunflint Wilderness
Our summer naturalist program has always been a big part of what makes Gunflint special. We know what a treasure we have here in our woods, waters, and wildlife, and we make it a point to give our guests an opportunity to experience some of these wonders firsthand. Guided hikes and excursions to places of exceptional scenery, historical significance, and areas known to be productive habitat for wildlife are among the many activities offered daily on a rotating basis. Most are designed for "kids" of all ages, but we have a few that are specifically designed with children in mind.
